Drew’s Garage, LLC and RV Court, owned by David and Dana Drew of Keytesville, has been named the November Business of the Month by the Keytesville Chamber of Commerce. The Drews say they have maintained a garage in Keytesville since about 2002, but when the pipeline came through the area, they recognized an opportunity to expand their business by accommodating RV’s that needed a comfortable, convenient place to hook-up.
Now that the pipeline activities are no longer on-going, the Drews say that they still average about two RV’s per month throughout the year, so the new business continues to be worthwhile. As a “perk” for renting a space from them for an RV is access to laundry facilities located in their nearby building. Dana was quick to add that it was a “self-serve laundry” for the renters only and she, herself, was not in the laundry business!
When asked if there were plans to further expand their business, the Drews replied that currently they have a small apartment for rent which consists of a kitchen, bathroom, and sleeping/living quarters in the same building as the laundry facilities. David indicated that the apartment was not totally finished yet, but was a work in progress, however, he expects cabinets to be installed soon and finish work to shortly follow. Having no motels or B and B’s located in Keytesville, both the RV Court and the soon to be finished small apartment are a welcome addition to Keytesville.
In addition to managing Drew’s Garage, LLC and RV Court, Dana Drew is employed by Shelter Insurance and David Drew is a Lead Lineman for KCP and L. They are the parents of two sons: Josh married to Lindsey who with their young son, Alex, live in Peculiar, MO, and Jeremiah and his wife Katie who live in Richmond, MO.
