Chariton County Heritage Tours, Inc.

About Us...
Chariton County Heritage Tours was established in 1996 under the guidance of the University of Missouri Extension Office. Originally known as Sho-Me Tours, the organization decided to change the name to better reflect it's purpose and focus on Chariton County. Members voted to rename as Chariton County Heritage Tours. Jack Jones, of Keytesville, served as the first president, followed by Stan Monnig, of Lake Nehai area, and Larry Pollard, of Mendon. Currently, Janet Weaver, of Keytesville, presides over the organization.

Throughout it's almost 20 years of existence, the organization has sought to to promote tourism of Chariton County for the economic benefit of its citizens. This has included developing and hosting motorcycle tours, creating brochures highlighting tourist attractions in various towns, funding scholarships, and providing tourist packages for interested groups.
